But somehow I think their main objective was to wage a physical war, not so much of an economic one. Breaking down the world's economy could be a bi-product result (planned or not) but I don't think that was the primary objective.
Interesting thought though. I do remember the USSR having similar plans during the cold war. Well I don't REMEMBER it, but I did hear about it, obviously...
I do not see the reason for what is going on in the USA economy today in actions of Al-Qaida. They probably hate your/our guts but you can not blame them for everything. The free citizens have to share the blame for they have done.
I see the issue as 100% believe in a free market. With all do respect to Allen Greenspan it was almost heartbreaking seeing him in court saying that the economy is breaking down because he was naive and believed in free market. Russians have a saying "Trust, but always check". Regulations are necessary. The great example of regulated capitalism was and still is Marshal's plan that got Europe from ruins into prosperity.
